Prague

Prague is a city that definitely lives up to its hype. During this entire semester, I have not encountered a city that could even come close to being as beautiful as Vienna, but Prague... hmm, yeah, it's pretty amazing. Of course, Vienna is still better in a lot of aspects (haha, I am biased, I know) but wow. Normally there is no competition, but in this situation, I am not sure. I think a lot of cities tend to look "darker" compared to Vienna, which gives them a rather grungy feeling, but it works in Prague. There are enough colours to balance everything out and the dark spires provide interest and contrast.

Despite the crappy weather, I'm really enjoying it here. Not only is this city gorgeous, but things are also AFFORDABLE. It's a miracle.

Maybe a more in depth post later, but for now, I leave you with this--

Affordable? By what standards? And those are dark spiky spires. If you were to take the upper-right portion of the picture, and replace the background with huge flames against a dark, smoldering sky... but let's not.
And to think I've only had a plane-divergence to Prague. :(

By any standards. The entire trip (including transportation and hostel) was like... less than €100 or just around there. We basically ate out every meal as well. It was awesome. This is the one place that deserves to be as hyped as it is. And yes, Prague has a lot of "dark" buildings but they also have tons of beautifully coloured ones. It's a striking balance (much better than, say... Budapest *cough*).
