Wow. Today (actually yesterday because it's Friday at 3AM now), I had my last classes (and exam) ever in Vienna. That's pretty depressing. I'm kind of relieved that Wirtschaftsdeutsch is over because that class was so stressful, but still... that means everything is really coming to an end. I'm not ready to leave yet. I don't think I'll ever be ready to leave this place. I'll just remain in denial.

I'm kind of scared to see my results for Swedish/German. Especially German. I literally left an entire section blank because it was about something you either had to know or you didn't. Guessing didn't help. Of course, I didn't know any of them because I didn't know I had to study it. Oops. Oh well. It's over.

The other day, I wandered into a bookstore after my Swedish exam. The original plan was to see if I could find some Uni Wien merchandise, but then I got distracted by books (figures). I almost ended up spending a lot of money, but then I restrained myself... and only spent kind-of a lot of money *cough*. I think it was well worth it though because it's pretty cool to find actual novels in German that I would WANT to read (meaning: not the kind we would read in German classes) -- just normal novels/books that you would read for fun. I picked up one actual book and this other drawing book thing. The drawing book thing is actually Japanese, but all the instructions are translated into German (obviously). I honestly just wanted to have it because the drawings were adorable. I know this sounds quite materialistic, but sometimes I just see books (or things in general) that I really want to have... just to look at. Is that horrible? Haha, oh well. At least I will learn lots of new vocabulary :D.

Despite the fact that lugging books home will be a royal pain, I think I'll buy more anyway. It's cheaper than having books shipped to the US. It's a really satisfying feeling to be able to read something in another language and actually understand it. Hurrah!

What else... what else... ah, yes. Today we made the best pancakes ever. Normally we just end up making European-style pancake things (more like crepes) but I actually have baking powder now so we made "real" pancakes! Delicious. My friend also had some real (Canadian) maple syrup that another friend brought from Canada. It actually smelled rather odd, but we were like, "Eh, whatever" so we poured it all over our pancakes anyway. When we were almost done eating, my friend realized that the weird smell was... alcohol.

Can maple syrup ferment?! Apparently, it can.
